Phosphation to deal with inorganic contamination (heavy metals)
This process stabilises the heavy metals that the sediment contains by trapping them in the crystalline lattice (formation of calcium phosphate by the addition of phosphoric acid injected into the pipes through which the sludge passes).
Residence in a maturation tank gives the necessary chemical reactions time to take place. The gases that are generated by this process are also treated.
